Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri CoxX (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Badr Aerts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aerts is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and CoxX counters with a left and a right that stings Aerts.

CoxX feints and as Aerts raises his hands in defense, CoxX changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as CoxX accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aerts can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as CoxX controls the pace.

Aerts is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst CoxX is controlling him.

Aerts utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Aerts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with CoxX. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
CoxX wants to control from the top but Aerts keeps moving.
Aerts looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

CoxX drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and CoxX jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
CoxX stands up over Aerts, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

CoxX drops back looking for a leg! Aerts is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aerts manages to kick CoxX off! CoxX jumps back into Aerts's guard.
Aerts is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Aerts has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

CoxX working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Aerts's head.

CoxX sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Aerts's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
CoxX is taking a breather. Aerts says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

CoxX is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Aerts defends it well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Aerts can do anything to dispel that myth.

CoxX escapes and gets back to his feet.
Aerts tries to clinch but CoxX moves out of range.
Aerts tries to clinch there but CoxX circles away.
Aerts tries to close the distance and clinch up but CoxX swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Aerts thows a body shot but no joy.

CoxX shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Aerts napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Aerts tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

CoxX is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Aerts with him. Aerts is trying to defend but CoxX has an arm under the chin now! Aerts grimaces and is forced to tap out!
