The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laniev is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Laniev wants to clinch but Lincoln slips to the side

and Lincoln counters with a shoot takedown. Laniev fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lincoln is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Lincoln makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Lincoln is pushing down on Laniev's leg trying to pass to half guard. Laniev is fighting to maintain full guard but Lincoln has managed to sneak the leg through.

Laniev is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lincoln scores with a couple of nice shots.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lincoln lands a nice short elbow.
Laniev is trying to get back to full guard.
Lincoln is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Laniev tries to kick Lincoln off but Lincoln keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laniev slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Lincoln wants to pass the guard but Laniev is keeping the position.
Lincoln lands a couple of digs.

Laniev is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lincoln slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lincoln has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Abraham Lincoln.

Lincoln moves into the clinch.

It looks like Abraham Lincoln has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lincoln is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Laniev is hurt! He's hurt bad - Lincoln fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Laniev from any more punishment! Congratulations to Lincoln! Great finish!
