PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Kelvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omen Scribe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Omen Scribe was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcos Kelvin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Omen Scribe!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scribe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kelvin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kelvin pushing down on Scribe's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Scribe wants to get back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Kelvin seems content to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Marcos Kelvin has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Scribe gets caught flat footed, as Kelvin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kelvin working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kelvin is pushing down on Scribe's leg trying to pass to half guard. Scribe is fighting to maintain full guard but Kelvin has managed to sneak the leg through.

Kelvin stands up and beckons Scribe to his feet.
Scribe fails in his attempt to clinch.
Scribe scores with a head kick. Kelvin tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Scribe scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Kelvin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kelvin lands in his opponent's guard.

Kelvin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kelvin seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Kelvin keeps the fight on the outside.
Scribe shoots and misses

and Kelvin counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Scribe looks winded!
Kelvin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kelvin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Scribe, up you get!
Kelvin misses with a head kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scribe with a nice cross.
Scribe looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Scribe throws a head kick that Kelvin semi-blocks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scribe scores with a jab to the head.
Good shot there by Scribe.
Scribe throws a nice inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcos Kelvin dominated that round.

Kelvin throws a shot from downtown. Scribe moves away and avoids it.
Scribe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kelvin throws out the jab.
Scribe shoots in and drives through. Kelvin sprawls well.
Scribe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Scribe throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kelvin's head.
Kelvin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Scribe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kelvin somewhat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Scribe.
Scribe throws a leg kick which misses Kelvin's front leg but catches the back leg as Kelvin tries to avoid it.
Scribe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Scribe lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kelvin swats away the attempt to clinch by Scribe.

Scribe misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Marcos Kelvin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Omen Scribe.
Scribe is breathing heavily.
Kelvin doesn't manage to clinch there - Scribe circles away.
Scribe tries to clinch but Kelvin is having none of it.
Kelvin tries to close the distance and clinch but Scribe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kelvin fails with the takedown.
Scribe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kelvin avoids it really well and circles away.
Kelvin goes for a double leg but Scribe avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Scribe continues to drive forward.
Kelvin is looking to break free of the clinch but Scribe has double underhooks.

The fight stays on the outside here - Scribe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Scribe shoots for a double leg takedown but Kelvin sprawls well. He's pushed Scribe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kelvin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Scribe - the referee stops the clock and Kelvin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Scribe. Kelvin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Scribe swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kelvin.
Good standup being displayed there by Scribe as he connects with a hook.
Scribe throws a head kick that misses.
Scribe doesn't manage to clinch there - Kelvin circles away.
Kelvin closes the distance and clinches up with Scribe, looking for a takedown. Kelvin pushes Scribe against the cage but Scribe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Scribe scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Scribe tries to clinch up but Kelvin circles away and keeps his distance.
Scribe throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Omen Scribe seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kelvin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Kelvin circles away from the clinch attempt.

Scribe gets caught flat footed, as Kelvin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Kelvin passes Scribe's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Marcos Kelvin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Scribe lands a leg kick that knocks Kelvin off balance momentarily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Scribe moves in looking to clinch but Kelvin pushes him off.
Both fighters circling a little - Scribe finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Omen Scribe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scribe ducks under a wild hook from Kelvin.
Kelvin tries to clinch up
and Scribe counters with a straight right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Omen Scribe will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Scribe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kelvin swivels and escapes.
Scribe is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kelvin swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Scribe counters with a nice uppercut.
Kelvin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kelvin leaves Scribe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Scribe feints and then cracks Kelvin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kelvin down.
Scribe lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Crunch! Scribe slams his shin into Kelvin's torso.

Scribe rushes Kelvin and presses him up against the cage.
Kelvin is trying to maintain a safe position but Scribe gets an underhook and turns Kelvin into the cage.
Kelvin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Kelvin wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

A left hand lands to the body for Scribe.
Kelvin tries to pull guard but Scribe holds him up against the cage and eventually Kelvin drops back down to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Scribe pulls Kelvin into guard.
Scribe is looking to stand up but Kelvin isn't so interested in that idea.
Scribe is looking to sweep but instead, Kelvin has passed into half guard.

Kelvin decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scribe swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Kelvin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Scribe's guard.
Kelvin advances to half guard.
Scribe trying to hold on to Kelvin's head to control him but Kelvin postures up.
Kelvin performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kelvin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Scribe is in trouble now - Kelvin has advanced to mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Scribe is looking to get to half guard.
Kelvin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Scribe is looking to escape.
Scribe tries to control Kelvin's body but Kelvin pushes him off. Scribe squirms to his side and now Kelvin has his back!

And that's the end of the fight!
Marcos Kelvin showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Kelvin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
