Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Agamemnon Coon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Woods! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 18 - 2, fighting out of New York, Agamemnon Coon! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woods throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Coon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Woods is fending him off so far but Coon persists. Nope, Woods circles away and we're back to standing. Coon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Woods sprawls well initially but Coon persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Woods has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Coon is working away from the top position though. Coon is trying to control. Woods wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Woods blocking the ground and pound attempt from Coon. Woods keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Woods tries to roll over but Coon keeps him under control. Coon throwing shots but Woods is blocking nicely. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Coon connects with a nice short shot to Woods's temple. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Woods trying to control here.
Woods is refusing to be controlled, as Coon sits in half guard. Coon is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Woods! Woods is bucking up trying to escape but Coon cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
It looks like James Woods has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woods slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Woods tries to roll over but Coon keeps him under control. Woods makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Woods. Woods looking to control but Coon passes into half guard.
Coon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Coon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Coon connects with a nice short shot to Woods's temple. Coon prevents Woods from improving his position. Coon working the head and body with strikes. Coon sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Woods defending well though. Coon missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Woods avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Coon. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Coon is pressing down on Woods's thigh, looking to free his foot. Woods is holding on for now. Woods is not content to let Coon control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woods tries to get to full guard but Coon has control of the leg. Woods is trying to maintain the position but Coon is very close to passing his half guard. Woods is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Coon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Woods does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Woods moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Woods is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Coon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woods is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Coon postures up.
Coon landing with the ground and pound. Coon throws a big elbow that misses. Coon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Coon content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Coon wants to control from the top but Woods keeps moving. Coon wants to pass the guard but Woods is keeping the position. Coon wants to control from the top but Woods keeps moving. Coon stops Woods from standing up. Coon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coon throwing strikes but missing. Woods looking to hit a scissor sweep but Coon is one step ahead there. Woods wants to hit a switch here but Coon passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Woods there! Coon landing shots from mount.
James Woods's cut is getting worse. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Coon lands a nice shot to the head.

Jeez, James Woods's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Agamemnon Coon! In his post fight interview, Agamemnon Coon started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
