Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Micheal White!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clark shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. White is trying to defend but Clark finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Clark keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
White pushes Clark off looking to stand but Clark dives back in and keeps control.
White is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Clark is controlling the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Matt Clark.
White moves in looking to clinch but Clark pushes him off.
Clark takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

White tries to close the distance and clinch up but Clark swats him away and circles back towards the center.

White throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Clark's head.

White rushes Clark and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
White creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Clark's defenses.
Clark tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. White smiles and moves away.

Clark is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, White has managed to free his arm - good work.
White is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Clark scores with a couple of nice shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Clark is looking to take a break and control but White is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Clark has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clark. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
