Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: 50cent - I´ll WHIP YA HEAD BOY. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes shoots in but Maxwell avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Maxwell stuffs the takedown attempt from Hayes. Hayes gets slowly back to his feet.
Hayes misses with a takedown attempt - Maxwell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jack Maxwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Hayes.

Maxwell has taken the fight to the clinch.

Maxwell manages to break the clinch.
Hayes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maxwell as he jumps to the side.
Maxwell throws a nice inside leg kick.

Maxwell closes the distance and clinches.

Maxwell manages to pull guard.
Hayes is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hayes tries to free his leg and advance position but Maxwell is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hayes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maxwell works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hayes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maxwell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hayes forces his way into half guard.
Maxwell looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hayes wants to pass to mount but Maxwell is defending the position.

Hayes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Hayes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hayes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Maxwell throws a low kick but Hayes avoids it.
Hayes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hayes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hayes prevents Maxwell from escaping the position.
Hayes throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Hayes has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Maxwell is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hayes yanks on the arm and Maxwell is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hayes.
