Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ruben Alamo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Toni Tynkkynen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alamo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tynkkynen.
Alamo shoots in for a takedown but Tynkkynen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Alamo takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Alamo counters with a single leg into guard. Tynkkynen didn't expect that.

Tynkkynen is striking off his back. Alamo thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

It looks like Ruben Alamo has been cut.
Tynkkynen looks for a takedown but Alamo sprawls well.

Alamo shoots in looking for a takedown. Tynkkynen tries to sprawl out of it but Alamo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tynkkynen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alamo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Alamo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tynkkynen's guard.

Alamo tries to close the distance and clinch but Tynkkynen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Alamo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alamo showed some decent athleticism there.

Alamo throws a looping overhand right but Tynkkynen ducks down to avoid it.
Alamo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Tynkkynen shoots in and drives through. Alamo sprawls well.

The fight stays on the outside here - Alamo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tynkkynen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alamo is working away from the top position though.
Tynkkynen tries to roll over but Alamo keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alamo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tynkkynen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tynkkynen and Alamo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Alamo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tynkkynen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alamo is in Tynkkynen's guard.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Alamo here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Tynkkynen parries the strikes from Alamo easily there. Alamo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Tynkkynen to escape.
Alamo throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Tynkkynen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alamo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alamo decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Tynkkynen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tynkkynen.
Tynkkynen swats away the attempt to clinch by Alamo.
Tynkkynen defending well as Alamo loads up on a big left hand.

Tynkkynen shoots for a double leg takedown but Alamo sprawls well. He's pushed Tynkkynen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alamo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Alamo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tynkkynen was covering up waiting for the punch and Alamo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Alamo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Tynkkynen!

Alamo throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Tynkkynen has his hands clasped together but Alamo breaks the hold and Tynkkynen is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Alamo!
