Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ichiro stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ichiro wants it to stay on the feet.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for King James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James tries for a takedown but Ichiro sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
James swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ichiro fails with a takedown attempt.

Ichiro shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in James's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

and Ichiro counters by clinching up.

A frustrated look appears on James's face as he tries to break the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ichiro decides to return to a standing position.
James closes the distance and clinches up with Ichiro, looking for a takedown. James pushes Ichiro against the cage but Ichiro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Ichiro. No joy for James on that attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

James will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ichiro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Ichiro is tightening it up a little... James has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! James reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! James taps out! Nice BJJ there by Ichiro!
