PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mihai Matei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kitsune Tsuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matei comes to the cage accompanied by MitiS & MaHi - Blu. The key to victory for Mihai Matei has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mihai Matei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kitsune Tsuki!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matei scores with a one two! Tsuki had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Tsuki dodges the punch combination from Matei.

Matei looks to land a combination but Tsuki avoids it well.

Tsuki moves into the clinch successfully.

Matei gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Tsuki.
Matei tries to circle away but Tsuki has him pinned against the cage.

Tsuki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Matei as he avoids it easily.
Mihai Matei has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kitsune Tsuki.
Matei will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tsuki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Tsuki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matei manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Matei gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Tsuki is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Matei is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Matei has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tsuki has his foot on Matei's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matei works his way back into a safe position though.

Tsuki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Matei defends it easily.

Tsuki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Tsuki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matei can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Matei gets to his feet - Tsuki follows without any prompting.

Tsuki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Matei doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tsuki.

Tsuki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Matei's guard.

Matei would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Tsuki is working an open guard so Matei takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Tsuki takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Matei tries to circle away but Tsuki has him pinned against the cage.

Tsuki turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tsuki manages to end up in side control.

A close second round but Kitsune Tsuki will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Tsuki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Matei but Matei pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Matei lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Matei.

Tsuki jumps guard but Matei stands there with Tsuki around his waist. Tsuki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Matei's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Tsuki is looking for a takedown.
Tsuki wants to take the fight to the mat but Matei manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Matei looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Matei prevents a takedown attempt there.
Matei is trying to force a seperation but Tsuki has the dominant position.
Matei wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I would just about give that final round to Kitsune Tsuki.
I've got Tsuki winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
