The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mousasi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mousasi misses with a wild combination.

Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mousasi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Thompson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mousasi tries to avoid it but Thompson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mousasi to the ground. Mousasi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch but Mousasi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mousasi throws a right hand that Thompson ducks under and follows up with a left that Thompson also avoids with ease.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mousasi content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Thompson wants to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mousasi is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Mousasi lands with a big right hook that stumbles Thompson - he's out on his feet here! Mousasi follows up with another monster hook that separates Thompson from consciousness! Thompson falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Mousasi stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
