The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Silva.

Silva takes the fight into the clinch.

Raider manages to break the clinch.

and Silva counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Raider fails to land with a series of punches.

Raider shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard.
Silva throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Raider misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Silva is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Raider gets his way!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Silva decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Raider, up you get!

Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
