The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDermott misses with a wild combination.
Ardona looks for the body kick but McDermott saw that one coming.
McDermott wants to clinch.
Ardona defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McDermott.
McDermott misses with a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDermott gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ardona.
McDermott will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
McDermott tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ardona pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces McDermott back to the cage. Ardona follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Ardona rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McDermott moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Ardona cracks McDermott with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and McDermott counters with a nice right hand that sends Ardona toppling to the canvas! Ardona scrambles and gets back to his feet - can McDermott finish him?!

and Ardona counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
McDermott throws a nice looking combination but Ardona bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Ardona misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ardona pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Ardona uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McDermott.

McDermott closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Ardona is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

McDermott decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ardona to his feet.
Ardona lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McDermott circles away quickly and effectively.
McDermott lands a slapping body shot.

Ardona takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Ardona misses with a body kick.
McDermott misses with a lunging right hand
and Ardona counters with a one-two to the body.

Ardona scores with the left hand. McDermott knows he should have avoided that one.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McDermott throws a right and a left that Ardona avoids nicely.

OH! Ardona has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! McDermott smells blood and charges in for the finish! McDermott unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Ardona sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
