Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Ryan Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Banjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Banjo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banjo drives through and clinches with Roberts against the cage.
Roberts can't break the clinch.
Roberts wants to break free but Banjo has control.
Banjo wants a takedown.
Banjo turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Banjo manages to end up in side control.
Banjo controls the position from side control.
Roberts is trying to buck Banjo off.
Roberts trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Roberts seems a little lost for a moment, as Banjo dominates the positioning.

It looks like Banjo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Banjo is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Roberts is defending well though. Banjo let's go of the attempt for now.

Banjo has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Roberts has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Banjo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Banjo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Roberts pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Roberts throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Banjo misses with a takedown attempt - Roberts sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Banjo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Roberts connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Banjo scrambles back to his feet.
Roberts throws a push kick but Banjo slaps the foot to one side.
Banjo tries to clinch there but Roberts circles away.
No luck for Banjo with that takedown attempt.
Roberts lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Banjo darts in and clinches Roberts up against the cage.

Roberts on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Roberts tries to get out of the position.

Roberts defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Banjo.
Banjo has hold of Roberts's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Roberts manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Roberts's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Banjo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Roberts has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Banjo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Banjo is landing with some decent strikes but Roberts is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Banjo is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Roberts is trying to escape and Banjo transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Roberts is forced to tap! Nice work there by Banjo! Very nice indeed!
