Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Guy Crusher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saul Goodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Guy Crusher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Saul Goodman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goodman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Goodman wants it to stay on the feet.
Saul Goodman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Crusher clinches up with Goodman and pushes him back against the cage.
Crusher keeps control of Goodman as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Goodman is trying to break the clinch but Crusher is controlling him.
Goodman has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Goodman prevents a takedown attempt there.
Goodman wants a takedown but no success here.

Crusher decides to pull guard.
Crusher controls Goodman momentarily but Goodman frees himself.
Goodman wants to get up but he can't break Crusher's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Crusher wants to sweep but no luck.
Crusher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Goodman trying to control the position from guard on top but Crusher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Goodman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crusher swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Goodman lands a couple of digs.
Crusher tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Crusher uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Goodman misses with a double jab
and Crusher counters with a big head kick but Goodman shrugs it off.
A left lands for Goodman.
Crusher shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Goodman but Goodman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Guy Crusher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A punch combination from Goodman misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Crusher looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Saul Goodman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Goodman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Goodman missing with a left hand there. Crusher was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Goodman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Crusher doesn't seem bothered though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Crusher avoids the body shot from Goodman.
Crusher tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Goodman keeps the fight on the outside.
Crusher uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Goodman.

Crusher closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Goodman to the mat! Goodman manages to get full guard.
Goodman seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Goodman looks winded!
Goodman keeping moving, preventing Crusher from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Crusher decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Crusher tries to close the distance and clinch up but Goodman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Crusher bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Crusher trying to control the action but Goodman is working from the bottom.
Goodman taking punishment in the form of punches.

Crusher working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Crusher taking a breather here.
Crusher working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Crusher has knee on belly and moves into mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Crusher avoids the attempt from Goodman to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Guy Crusher dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Crusher fails to land the takedown.
Goodman lands with a straight right. Crusher didn't see that one coming.

Crusher scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Crusher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Goodman keeps working.
Goodman is trying to get back to his feet.
Goodman tries to bench press Crusher off him but Crusher keeps the position.
Crusher trying to control the position but Goodman is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Crusher decides to stand up, so the ref orders Goodman to his feet.
Crusher fails with a takedown attempt.
Crusher fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Guy Crusher. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Goodman wants to get back to striking at distance but Crusher won't allow it.

Crusher's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Crusher shoots in but no luck this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Crusher tries to clinch but Goodman moves out of range.
Goodman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Crusher circles away quickly and effectively.
Goodman throws a poor cross that misses
and Crusher counters with a head kick.
Goodman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Crusher is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Crusher shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Goodman as he avoids it easily.
Oh Crusher is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Goodman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Goodman is breathing heavily.
Goodman just misses with a punch to the body.
Goodman lands a jab to the nose.
Goodman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Goodman blocks a head kick by Crusher.
Goodman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Crusher.
Crusher tries to clinch
and Goodman counters with a left and a right that stings Crusher.
Crusher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
BOOM! Goodman lands a beautiful left hook that drops Crusher. Crusher tries to recover but Goodman is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Crusher lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Saul Goodman!
After winning the bout, Saul Goodman thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
