Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurokawa Kenji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hale Erwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erwin has chosen Young Jeezy feat. T.I. - F.A.M.E. as his entrance music. Kurokawa Kenji had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Kurokawa Kenji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hale Erwin!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenji feints and then cracks Erwin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Erwin down.
Kenji throws a low kick but it's checked well by Erwin.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Erwin checks a leg kick.
Erwin blocks a leg kick.
Kenji misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kenji misses with a right hand

and Erwin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kenji won't be happy with that.
Erwin tries to advance to mount but can't.
Erwin working away.
Kenji is trying to improve his position.
Kenji is not content to let Erwin control the position.
Erwin landing a few strikes.

Erwin gets to mount! Kenji was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Kenji tries to hold on but Erwin postures up.
Erwin looking to finish Kenji with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kenji!
Erwin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kenji wants to control but Erwin is having none of it.

Kenji takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


It looks like Kurokawa Kenji has been cut.
Erwin punching from mount but Kenji doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Kenji might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Erwin throwing strikes here but Kenji is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kenji sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Erwin controlling the action here.
Erwin thows a huge punch but Kenji dodges it nicely.
Erwin is looking to take a break and control but Kenji is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are battling for position here. Kenji manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kenji wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hale Erwin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kurokawa Kenji's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Erwin takes one to the chin there.
Erwin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Kenji takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kenji pivots, looking for a leg kick but Erwin is out of range and Kenji settles back down.
Kenji works Erwin's body with a nice hook.
Donk. Kenji catches Erwin right on the button with a cross.
Kenji takes a swing at Erwin's ribcage but misses.
Kenji lands a nice shot to the body.
Kenji throws a head kick that misses.
Nice defenses there by Erwin.
Erwin tries to work over Kenji's front leg with a kick but Kenji checks it.

and Erwin counters with a takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Erwin grinds an elbow into Kenji's temple.

Erwin scores with a couple of short elbows.
Erwin in side control, throwing shots but Kenji defends.
Kenji is letting Erwin control him for a moment.
The strikes coming from Erwin are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Kenji parries the strikes from Erwin easily there. Erwin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kenji to escape.

Erwin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Erwin throws a strike aimed at the side of Kenji's head but Kenji avoids it well.
Erwin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Erwin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Hale Erwin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Kurokawa Kenji's cut.
That's time! Kenji's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Erwin throws the left hand but Kenji avoids the punch easily.
Erwin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kenji. Kenji obviously looking to wear him down.
Kenji clobbers Erwin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kenji throws a low kick but it's checked well by Erwin.
Kenji connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Erwin momentarily.
Kenji takes a head kick and keeps coming.


Kurokawa Kenji's cut is getting worse.
Erwin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kenji finds it's way round the side to connect with Erwin's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kenji misses with a wild body shot.
Erwin avoids the head kick by Kenji.
A good leg kick by Kenji.

Erwin instigates a clinch.
Erwin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kenji avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kenji struggles to land a body shot inside as Erwin controls his hands.
Kenji throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Erwins head.

Kenji is trying to break the clinch but Erwin has him pressed against the cage.
Kenji lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Erwin or not.
Kenji stops a takedown attempt from Erwin.
Kenji fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Erwin misses with the head strike.
Erwin swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kenji lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Erwin backwards.
Erwin lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kenji backwards.
Kenji scores with a nice hook to the head.

Kenji breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

so Erwin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kenji looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kenji controls Erwin momentarily but Erwin frees himself.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kenji holds on and takes a little breather.

Kurokawa Kenji has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Kenji thows a leg kick but Erwin checks it

so Erwin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kenji avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hale Erwin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Erwin is fighting to break Kenji's control of his arms but Kenji is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Erwin wants to control from the top but Kenji keeps moving.
Erwin stays in close to Kenji's body and controls the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hale Erwin wasn't active enough on the ground.
Erwin blocks a low kick nicely.
Kenji scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Erwin doesn't seem bothered though.

and Erwin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kenji's guard now.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Erwin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Kenji avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kenji not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hale Erwin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Erwin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kurokawa Kenji has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kenji misses with a body shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Hale Erwin.
I've got Erwin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
