The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bak tries for a takedown but Kaukalo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A jab from Kaukalo does it's job there.
Kaukalo throws a jab when Bak was well out of range.
Kaukalo pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bak back to the cage. Kaukalo follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Jong Bak has been cut.
Some wild striking there from Kaukalo.
Bak fails with the takedown.
Kaukalo misses with a two punch combination.
Kaukalo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bak momentarily.

Bak blocks a jab.
Kaukalo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The referee asks Bak politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bak prefers to stall for the moment though.
Kaukalo manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bak's best efforts.

Bak is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Bak is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Bak has control of Kaukalo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kaukalo regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bak throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Bak moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kaukalo has worked his arm free - good work by Kaukalo!
Kaukalo tries to bench press Bak off him but Bak keeps the position.
Kaukalo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bak off and has taken his back!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bak is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Bak trying to control the hands but Kaukalo breaks the grip.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Kaukalo doesn't have the hooks in and Bak manages to turn into his guard.

Kaukalo has control of Bak's left arm, preventing Bak from doing any damage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Pekka Kaukalo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Bak swings for the body but Kaukalo moves out of range.
Kaukalo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bak tries for a takedown but Kaukalo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Bak closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bak lands in his opponent's guard.
Kaukalo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Kaukalo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bak!

Kaukalo prevents Bak from getting the reversal.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kaukalo is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Bak is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kaukalo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bak closes the distance but Kaukalo moves to the side
and Kaukalo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Bak misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kaukalo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bak counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Kaukalo cracks Bak with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Kaukalo connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bak. Bak circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Jong Bak's cut is getting worse.
Kaukalo fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Bak to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Bak looks to clinch but Kaukalo throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Bak taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
