The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Hirvonen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Valentine is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hirvonen.
Valentine ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Valentine throws a shot from downtown. Hirvonen moves away and avoids it.
Hirvonen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Valentine.
Valentine throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hirvonen sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Hirvonen cracks Valentine with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Hirvonen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
