Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Beam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Whitman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jim Beam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Whitman!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beam fails with a takedown attempt.
Whitman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Beam pinned against the cage. Beam gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Whitman is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Jim Beam has been cut.
Beam throws a head kick that misses.
Whitman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Beam is fending him off so far but Whitman persists. Nope, Beam circles away and we're back to standing.
Whitman throws a jab when Beam was well out of range.

Beam has managed to clinch.
Beam looking to stall.
Whitman scores with a shot to the side of Beam's head.
Beam tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Beam is pressed up against the cage. Whitman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Beam down to the mat. Beam avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jim Beam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Whitman.
Beam changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Whitman tries to avoid it but Beam manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Whitman to the ground. Whitman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Beam lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Whitman circles away quickly and effectively.

Whitman takes the fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Whitman misses with a short punch on the inside.
Beam tries to score a body lock takedown but Whitman shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Whitman gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Whitman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Beam doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Whitman.

Whitman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Beam defends it well.

Whitman is trying for a kimura here. Beam looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Whitman wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bobby Whitman!
