Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Junior Avalon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dutch Schaeffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Avalon comes into the arena with Eye of the Tiger blaring out of the sound system. Schaeffer has chosen Long Tall Sally as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schaeffer throws a head kick but Avalon moves out of range.

Schaeffer rushes Avalon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Avalon is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Schaeffer is keeping busy.
Schaeffer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Avalon just stands there and leans against the cage.
Avalon throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Schaeffers head.

It looks like Dutch Schaeffer has been cut.
Schaeffer tries to pull guard but Avalon holds him up against the cage and eventually Schaeffer drops back down to his feet.

Avalon is defending well against a takedown attempt.

That was a close round but I would say that Junior Avalon will probably get the nod.

A left and a right from Avalon both land. Nice combination.
Schaeffer takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Avalon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Schaeffer.

Avalon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schaeffer circles away quickly and effectively.

Junior Avalon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schaeffer throws an overhand right that lands on Avalon's shoulder, as Avalon tries to avoid the shot.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Avalon lands an overhand right.
Avalon takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Avalon lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Schaeffer backs up against the cage.

Schaeffer scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Schaeffer postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Avalon is trying to control Schaeffer's posture but Schaeffer avoids it.

Schaeffer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schaeffer swings around for an armbar but Avalon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Schaeffer's guard.

Avalon chips away with some ground and pound.
Avalon throws a strike but Schaeffer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Schaeffer wants to stand but Avalon is controlling his posture from full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schaeffer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Avalon is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Schaeffer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Schaeffer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Avalon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Schaeffer has Avalon in his guard.
Schaeffer thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Avalon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Avalon is looking to take a break and control but Schaeffer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Avalon works his foot free and advances to mount.

Avalon cracks Schaeffer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Avalon postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Schaeffer in real trouble here! The ref calls for Schaeffer to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
