Lawrence tries to clinch but Burks is having none of it.

Burks tries to kick Lawrence off in order to stand up. Lawrence Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Burks misses with a two punch combination.
Lawrence slips a jab and a cross from Burks.
Lawrence moves in looking to clinch but Burks pushes him off.

Burks has taken the fight to the clinch.
Burks stops a takedown attempt from Lawrence.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Lawrence.
Lawrence goes for a takedown attempt but Burks pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Burks is trying to get back to half guard.
Lawrence advances to mount.
Lawrence can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Burks is looking to escape.

Burks really wants to buck Lawrence off and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burks is desperately trying to improve his position but Lawrence has a good base and remains in mount.

Burks pushes Lawrence off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

That was a close round but I would say that Martyn Lawrence will probably get the nod.

Burks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lawrence.

Burks drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lawrence pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lawrence tries to close the distance and clinch up but Burks swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lawrence takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Burks closes the distance and clinches up with Lawrence, looking for a takedown. Burks pushes Lawrence against the cage but Lawrence circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
