Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Stephens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emmanuel Kwetche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Emmanuel Kwetche!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stephens clinches with his opponent.
Stephens tries to land knees in the clinch but Kwetche avoids the damage to the body.
Kwetche misses with a short punch on the inside.

Stephens pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kwetche. Stephens does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stephens misses with a wild body shot.
Kwetche misses with a hook. Stephens ducked under it nicely.
Kwetche throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A big left from Kwetche misses.
Stephens misses with a body shot.
Kwetche just misses with a punch to the body.

Stephens closes the distance and pushes Kwetche back into the cage.

Stephens turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Stephens manages to end up in side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Stephens scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kwetche to see if he's OK.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stephens lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Kwetche.
Stephens just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Stephens has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Stephens has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kwetche has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephens looks to land a combination but Kwetche avoids it well.

Kwetche avoids a series of strikes thrown by Stephens.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kwetche can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stephens can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kwetche is looking to escape.
Stephens lands a couple of good shots and Kwetche has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Stephens is punishing Kwetche with some ground and pound.
Stephens lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Stephens.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Stephens here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Stephens wants to control but Kwetche is keeping busy.
Kwetche really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stephens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stephens shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kwetche but Kwetche pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Stephens is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kwetche is defending well for now.

Stephens displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kwetche throws out the jab.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tony Stephens.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stephens, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
