The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Rodriguez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Phok with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rodriguez counters with a nice leg kick.

Phok shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Phok wants to control from the top but Rodriguez keeps moving.
Phok is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Phok drops back looking for a leg! Rodriguez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rodriguez manages to kick Phok off! Phok jumps back into Rodriguez's guard.

Phok postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rodriguez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Phok, into his guard.

Rodriguez wants to stand but Phok has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
