Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dane Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Cisternas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dane Kane has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dane Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mario Cisternas!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Cisternas or perhaps it was just good defense by Kane which made him look bad.

Kane moves into the clinch.

Kane has hold of one of Cisternas's legs. Cisternas is fighting the takedown attempt but Kane gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Kane wants to stand but Cisternas has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Cisternas tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cisternas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kane looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kane has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kane enables Cisternas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kane manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Cisternas passes into half guard.
Kane tries to get to full guard but Cisternas has control of the leg.
Kane pushes Cisternas off looking to stand but Cisternas dives back in and keeps control.
Kane is looking for a sweep. Cisternas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kane is concentrating on defense, preventing Cisternas from advancing position.
Kane is refusing to be controlled, as Cisternas sits in half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mario Cisternas was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kane avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cisternas fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kane dives in and scores a takedown into Cisternas's guard.
Kane slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dane Kane just wasn't active enough.
Kane throws a body kick that misses.

Kane closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cisternas looks winded!

Kane is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cisternas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kane tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Kane tries to advance to mount but Cisternas denies him.
Cisternas is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Kane is looking to advance position but Cisternas won't allow it.

Well, if Kane is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cisternas wants to get back to full guard.
Kane winds up and cracks Cisternas with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kane is taking a breather. Cisternas says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cisternas avoids the body shot from Kane.

Kane fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cisternas, pushing him back against the cage.

Kane has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cisternas regains guard immediately.
Cisternas trying to keep a closed guard but Kane is proving a slippery customer.
Kane lands a couple of digs.
Cisternas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kane controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dane Kane has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Cisternas closes the distance but Kane moves to the side

and Kane holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kane cracks Cisternas with a nice body shot.
Kane is pushing Cisternas up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Kane has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cisternas uses from the top position.
Kane throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kane seems keen to control Cisternas's posture.
Kane wants to sweep but no luck.
Cisternas is breathing heavily.

Kane has control of Cisternas's left arm, preventing Cisternas from doing any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Cisternas would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Kane fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cisternas manages to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kane just misses with a punch to the body.

Kane closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cisternas's guard.
Kane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cisternas is striking but Kane is not phased and passes to half guard.
Well, if Kane is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kane has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Cisternas is trying to stand back up but Kane is controlling him
Cisternas tries to roll over but Kane keeps him under control.
Cisternas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kane tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Dane Kane wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cisternas.

Kane looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kane wants to stand up but Cisternas has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Kane works his foot free and advances to mount.

Kane controlling the pace for now.
Kane looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Kane looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kane postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cisternas looks a forlorn figure.

Kane postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Cisternas bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Kane and the fight is over!
