The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Vanagandr's head.
Vanagandr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Vanagandr takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Steele connects with an inside leg kick.
Steele shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Vanagandr eats them both and turns towards Steele to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Katla Vanagandr has been cut.
Steele moves out of range of the strikes.
Vanagandr thows a left - swing and a miss!
Steele lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

enabling Vanagandr to counter with a crisp jab.
Vanagandr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Steele moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vanagandr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steele throws out the jab.
Vanagandr scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Steele keeps Vanagandr at a distance using the push kick.
Steele thows a body shot but no joy.
Steele pivots, looking for a leg kick but Vanagandr is out of range and Steele settles back down.
Steele scores with the left hand. Vanagandr knows he should have avoided that one.
Steele throws a right and a left that both miss.

Steele is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vanagandr.

Steele lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Vanagandr misses with a series of wild punches.
Vanagandr keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Steele takes a swing at Vanagandr's ribcage but misses.
Steele misses with a hook. Vanagandr ducked under it nicely.
Steele lands a nice shot to the body.
Steele misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Steele looks to land a right hand but Vanagandr moved out of range.
Steele tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice straight punches there by Steele. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Steele.

That has opened up Katla Vanagandr's cut even more.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vanagandr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Steele.

Steele throws out a leg kick but Vanagandr moves out of range and Steele only half commits.
A telegraphed right hand from Vanagandr misses the target.

Vanagandr slips a jab and a cross from Steele.
Vanagandr misses with a straight left.
Steele has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Steele throws a series of punches but Vanagandr moves out of range.
Vanagandr stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Dan Steele is winning the standup battle so far.

Vanagandr has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Steele.

Steele throws a lazy right hand but Vanagandr sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Steele rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vanagandr moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dan Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Vanagandr misses.
Vanagandr throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Steele throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Vanagandr.
Vanagandr scores with a crisp jab that stopped Steele in his tracks.
Steele throws a leg kick
and Vanagandr counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Steele badly! Vanagandr follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Steele out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Vanagandr finished him against the cage.
