The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slice lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Roman lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Roman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Roman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Slice fails with a takedown attempt.
Roman blocks a head kick by Slice.

Slice fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Roman to the ground. Slice is now in Roman's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Slice drops back looking for a leg! Roman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Roman manages to kick Slice off! Slice jumps back into Roman's guard.

Slice displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Roman throws out the jab.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Slice shoots in but no luck this time.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Roman, as that shot connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tekken Slice dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Slice ducks under a wild hook from Roman.
Slice stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The fighters circle momentarily. Slice darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Slice closes the distance and clinches.

Roman has picked Slice up - he's going for a ride! Roman dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Still in half guard, Roman seems content to control.
Slice is staying active underneath Roman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Roman has Slice up against the cage in a clinch.

Slice tries to work over Roman's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Roman is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Slice pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Roman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Roman bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Slice's head backwards.
Slice throws a half hearted mid kick.
Tekken Slice is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Roman moves out of range of the body kick from Slice.
Slice looks for a takedown but Roman sprawls well.
Roman takes a swing at Slice's ribcage but misses.
Roman lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Slice throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Slice moves out of range as Roman strikes.

Slice closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Roman quickly recovers to half guard.

Slice is trying to control. Roman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slice is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tekken Slice was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Roman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Slice sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Slice gets tackled into the cage by Roman. Roman maintains the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Slice - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Slice has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Roman is trying to keep an underhook but Slice manages to get the takedown into half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tekken Slice hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Slice shoots in looking for a takedown. Roman tries to sprawl out of it but Slice keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Roman throws out a loose jab but Slice uses good head movement to avoid it.

Slice rushes Roman and presses him up against the cage.

Roman lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Roman has Slice pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Slice manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Slice's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Slice moves into range and clinches up with Roman.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Roman tries to work over Slice's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Slice goes for a takedown attempt but Roman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Slice shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roman as he jumps to the side.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dante Gael Roman.
I think Slice has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
