Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Ovechkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Gelder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ovechkin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Diego Gelder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gelder tries to clinch but Ovechkin moves out of range.
Gelder moves out of range of the strikes.
Gelder tries to clinch there but Ovechkin circles away.
Ovechkin shoots in and drives through. Gelder sprawls well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gelder escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ovechkin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Ovechkin is breathing heavily.

Gelder must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gelder drops back looking for a leg! Ovechkin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ovechkin manages to kick Gelder off! Gelder jumps back into Ovechkin's guard.

Gelder is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ovechkin isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gelder stacks Ovechkin on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gelder!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ovechkin is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Gelder pulls his head out easily.
Ovechkin scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Gelder manages to mount him!
Ovechkin is looking to improve his position but Gelder isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ovechkin is on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Alexander Ovechkin will probably get the nod.

Ovechkin has his feet on Gelder's thighs here. He's pushed Gelder off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Gelder screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
