PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vydan Freuster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chael Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vydan Freuster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chael Silva!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Freuster cracks Silva with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Silva takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Freuster misses with a looping right.
Silva bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Vydan Freuster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva on the wrong end of a nice jab.


It looks like Chael Silva has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Freuster throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Freuster throws a hook but Silva blocks it.
Freuster swinging wildly here.
Silva takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Freuster feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Silva sprawling to the canvas! Silva rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Freuster finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Freuster looks to land a right hand but Silva moved out of range.
Freuster throws an overhand right that lands on Silva's shoulder, as Silva tries to avoid the shot.
Freuster throws a poor cross that misses

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Freuster won't be happy with that.
Freuster manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Freuster is looking to advance position but Silva won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Vydan Freuster wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Freuster missing with a left hand there. Silva was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Freuster misses with a lunging right hand

and Silva counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Freuster!
Freuster is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

You can see the frustration on Freuster's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Freuster is looking for a sweep.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Freuster is working hard here to advance position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vydan Freuster dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Freuster lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Freuster throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range.
Freuster throws out a loose jab but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sloppy strikes from Freuster. Those never looked like landing.
Freuster lands a two punch combo.
Freuster lands a glancing blow to the side of Silva's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva ducks under a wild hook from Freuster.

Freuster cracks Silva with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Freuster has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Silva to stand back up!

Silva moves away from the strike by Freuster.
Freuster misses with a hook. Silva ducked under it nicely.

Freuster throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Freuster sends Silva crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Freuster is motioning to the referee to let Silva up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Freuster finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Freuster drops Silva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Silva looks back up at him and smiles so Freuster waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Freuster misses with a right hand

and Silva counters with a single leg into guard. Freuster didn't expect that.
Silva seems to have recovered his senses.
Freuster is pulling down on Silva's head. It's preventing any offense from Silva, at least for the moment.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Freuster manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Silva is looking to get to half guard.
Silva is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Freuster looking to control and managing it successfully.
Freuster is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silva can do to turn this around?
Silva gets back to half guard.
Still in half guard, Freuster seems content to control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Freuster pulls his head out easily.

Freuster thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.

Freuster wants to free his trapped foot but Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Freuster pulls his head out easily.
Still in half guard, Freuster seems content to control.
Freuster is pressing down on Silva's thigh, looking to free his foot. Silva is holding on for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Freuster takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Silva looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Freuster wants to stand but Silva has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Freuster performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Freuster moves into full mount! Silva won't be happy about that!
Silva is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Freuster controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Silva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Freuster.
Freuster fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Silva on the side of the head.
Freuster jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Silva moves out of range as Freuster strikes.
Freuster connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Silva shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Freuster drops Silva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Silva looks back up at him and smiles so Freuster waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

and Freuster counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Silva! He's just covering up as Freuster starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vydan Freuster!
