Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Blackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sir Byakuya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sir Byakuya has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Blackman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sir Byakuya!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Byakuya gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Byakuya scores with a shoulder strike.
Blackman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Byakuya should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Byakuya breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Blackman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Blackman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Byakuya avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Blackman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Blackman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Byakuya swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Blackman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Byakuya has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blackman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Byakuya is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Byakuya takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


It looks like Sir Byakuya has been cut.
Blackman throws a leg kick that misses.

Blackman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Byakuya sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Blackman somewhat.
Blackman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Byakuya counters with a series of strikes. Blackman will be more careful next time no doubt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Blackman tried to score with a low kick but Byakuya checks it.

Blackman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Byakuya, pushing him back against the cage.

Byakuya tries to pull guard but Blackman holds him up against the cage and eventually Byakuya drops back down to his feet.

Blackman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Byakuya really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blackman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Blackman decides to stand back up. Blackman steps back and let's Byakuya get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blackman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Blackman fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Byakuya checks it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blackman throws a body punch but Byakuya moves out of range.
Byakuya scores with a one two! Blackman had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Sir Byakuya is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Byakuya shoots in for a double leg but Blackman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Blackman throws a head kick but Byakuya moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Byakuya.

Blackman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Byakuya swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Blackman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Byakuya moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Blackman counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Byakuya!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Byakuya is looking to control Blackman's arms but Blackman gets an underhook and turns him. Now Byakuya has his back to the cage.
Byakuya manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Byakuya tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blackman smiles and moves away.
Blackman lands with a nice body punch.
Blackman is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Blackman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Byakuya tries to clinch up but Blackman circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sir Byakuya has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Frank Blackman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Frank Blackman.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Blackman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
