Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zane Archavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zane Archavin looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Emelianenko.
Archavin looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Emelianenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Emelianenko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Archavin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Emelianenko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Archavin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Emelianenko stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Archavin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Emelianenko closes the distance and clinches up with Archavin, looking for a takedown. Emelianenko pushes Archavin against the cage but Archavin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Emelianenko has picked Archavin up - he's going for a ride! Emelianenko dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Well, if Emelianenko is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Emelianenko is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Archavin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Emelianenko.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Emelianenko crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Archavin - the referee stops the clock and Emelianenko gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Archavin. Emelianenko manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Emelianenko is trying to trip Archavin. He has hold of a leg but Archavin is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Emelianenko persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Archavin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Archavin closes the distance and clinches.

Horrible takedown by Emelianenko or perhaps it was just good defense by Archavin which made him look bad.

Emelianenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Archavin thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Emelianenko if he has to take too many more of those.

Well Emelianenko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
