The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krukiov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shum but Shum pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A punch combination from Shum misses.

Krukiov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shum looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

Krukiov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shum, who protects the arm well.

Krukiov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Check out the look on Krukiov's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Shum knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Krukiov on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Krukiov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shum wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Shum throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Krukiov dodges the punch combination from Shum.
Shum throws a right hand that Krukiov ducks under and follows up with a left that Krukiov also avoids with ease.
