Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Akira Sengoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Homer Samson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akira Sengoku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Homer Samson!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sengoku moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Homer Samson has been cut.
Sengoku lands a glancing blow to the side of Samson's head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sengoku darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A low kick from Sengoku is predictable there

and Samson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Samson taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Sengoku tries to circle away but Samson has him pinned against the ropes.

Samson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Samson takes one to the chin there.
Samson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Samson rushes Sengoku and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Samson keeps control of Sengoku as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Sengoku looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Samson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Samson tries to land knees in the clinch but Sengoku avoids the damage to the body.
Sengoku wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Samson dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the ropes.
Sengoku wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Samson has him pressed against the ropes.

Samson continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Samson receives a warning from the referee for stalling.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Homer Samson.
Samson wants to clinch.

Samson clinches with his opponent.
Sengoku looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Samson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Samson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Samson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sengoku wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sengoku has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Sengoku tries to circle away but Samson has him pinned against the ropes.

Samson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sengoku lands with a shot to the body.
Samson misses with a head kick.
Sengoku slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Sengoku tries to keep at a distance but Samson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Samson keeps control of Sengoku as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Samson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sengoku thuds his right hand into Samson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sengoku scores with a jab to the body.
Samson looks winded!
Sengoku throws a wild body kick that Samson sees coming a mile off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Sengoku clips Samson with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Samson a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.


Samson is rocked!
Samson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Sengoku paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Samson is still on wobbly legs! Can Sengoku finish him?

Sengoku cracks Samson with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Samson get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Samson looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!
Sengoku connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Samson's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Samson - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Akira Sengoku!
Akira Sengoku decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
