Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Matis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Friezen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Friezen's choice of entrance music: Superstar-Saliva. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kirk Friezen!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Matis in the domination position with Friezen hanging on.
Friezen can't do much from the bottom here.
Matis sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Friezen is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Friezen wants to control but Matis postures up.
Matis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Friezen on the ground.
Friezen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Matis haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Matis wants to stand but Friezen has his arm trapped.
Matis in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Matis is looking to take a break and control but Friezen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Matis creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Friezen sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Matis wants to stand but Friezen is controlling his arm.
Matis is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Friezen's shoulder. That is not cool.
Matis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Friezen keeps working.
Friezen is holding Matis down, trying to stall.
Friezen is trying to control Matis's posture but Matis avoids it.
Matis trying to control the position but Friezen is working away.
Matis is really struggling to control Friezen but he's trying to hold on to the position.
We're going to have a standup here because George Matis wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Friezen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Friezen is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Matis has his hands clasped together but Friezen extends an breaks Matis's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Friezen.
