PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Trumps (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ringo Spar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trumps comes into the arena with Jay Z - Money, Cash, Hoes blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Spar's choice of entrance music: i Get Knocked Down, But i Get Up Again. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ian Trumps!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ringo Spar!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trumps tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Trumps lands a nice shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trumps looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Trumps tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Spar is able to avoid easily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Spar, right into the meat.
Trumps throws a nice looking combination but Spar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Trumps defending well as Spar loads up on a big left hand.

Spar is trying to drag Trumps to the mat but Trumps just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Trumps is pressed up against the cage. Spar has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Trumps down to the mat. Trumps avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ringo Spar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Spar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Spar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Trumps tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Spar presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Trumps takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Trumps tries to lock up and control but Spar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Trumps is bucking up trying to escape but Spar cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Spar cracks Trumps with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ian Trumps will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Trumps enables Spar to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Trumps manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Spar has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Trumps clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
