The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Silva gets to his feet - Aldo follows without any prompting.
Aldo tries to clinch but Silva is having none of it.
Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Aldo did well to prevent Silva getting side control.
Aldo wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Silva seems to be working for a kimura but Aldo defends the submission attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Aldo tries to kick Silva off but Silva keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Aldo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Aldo tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Silva!
