Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mamaw Ako!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ako avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Nichols misses with a double jab.
No joy there for Ako, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nichols takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nichols looks for a takedown but Ako sprawls well.
Nichols fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ako lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Ako moves out of range of the strikes.
Nichols walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Nichols clinches up with Ako and pushes him back against the cage.
Nichols tries to circle away but Ako has him pinned against the cage.
Ako tries to break the clinch but Nichols is controlling the position.
Ako works on Nichols's body with a couple of short punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nichols escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ako keeps the fight on the outside.
Ako throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nichols.
Nichols misses the jab.
Nichols drives through with a takedown into Ako's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Nichols has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ako is proving hard to escape from.

Ako can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nichols controls the pace.

Nichols takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Nichols shoots in for a takedown but Ako shows good takedown defense.
Ako is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Mamaw Ako seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ako stalks Nichols and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nichols's face. Nichols staggers backwards, shaken.

Ako cracks Nichols with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Nichols ducks right into an uppercut from Ako.
Ako connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nichols momentarily.
Ako connects with a looping right hand.
Nichols is rocked!
Nichols throws a right hand that Ako ducks under and follows up with a left that Ako also avoids with ease.
Nichols tries to clinch up.
Ako lands a really nice looking cross but Nichols seems unphased.
Ako lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nichols shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ako as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zack Nichols. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nichols shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ako, as that shot connected.
Oh Nichols is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ako lands a head shot.
Nichols attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Nichols seems to have got his legs back now.
Ako with a hook.
A jab from Nichols misses.
Ako feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Nichols sprawling to the canvas! Nichols rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ako finish him?!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ako drops Nichols with a big left hand! Nichols is injured, injured bad! Ako jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mamaw Ako!
An out of breath Mamaw Ako thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
