The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Carole darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Carole.
Silva gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Carole lands a right hook to the body.

Silva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A looping hook to the body misses from Carole. Silva does a little dance to reset his feet.
Carole throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Silva.

Carole lands a nice hook to Silva's body. Silva takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Carole lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Good leg kick by Carole there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Carole is fighting to break Silva's control of his arms but Silva is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Silva's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
