PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Anthony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alaskan Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Anthony might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Holidae Inn. Assassin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Skrillex - Summit. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Assassin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Anthony shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Assassin counters with a left and a right that stings Anthony.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Assassin stuffs the takedown.
Anthony tries for a takedown but Assassin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Anthony wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Assassin makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Anthony really felt that one!

and Assassin counters with a crisp one two that drops Anthony! Assassin thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Anthony to his feet! Anthony is in big trouble!

and Assassin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Assassin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Assassin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Assassin drops back looking for a leg! Anthony is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Anthony manages to kick Assassin off! Assassin jumps back into Anthony's guard.
Anthony is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Assassin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Anthony pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Anthony fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Assassin sprawls well initially but Anthony persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Anthony looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Assassin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
