Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Fedorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Rizal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Fedorov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Fedorov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Rizal!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Rizal. No joy for Fedorov on that attempt.
Fedorov shoots for a double leg takedown but Rizal sprawls well. He's pushed Fedorov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rizal shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fedorov defends it nicely.

Fedorov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rizal striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Rizal struggling a bit here.
Fedorov working the ground and pound.
Rizal has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fedorov throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fedorov tries to score with some ground and pound. Rizal controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Rizal tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Rizal sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Fedorov looks to land a strike but Rizal avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Fedorov throws an elbow that misses. Rizal uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fedorov's guard. Nice move by Rizal!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fedorov throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fedorov throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Rizal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fedorov works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Fedorov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rizal.

Rizal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Rizal won't allow Fedorov to sweep him here.

Rizal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fedorov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rizal postures up in Fedorov's guard and throws a big left but Fedorov blocks it.
Rizal trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fedorov's guard.

Fedorov keeping moving, preventing Rizal from controlling successfully.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rizal stands and throws Fedorov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Rizal in side control, throwing shots but Fedorov defends.
Fedorov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Rizal avoids the strikes from the bottom by Fedorov.
Rizal tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Fedorov is not content to let Rizal control the position.

Rizal decides to stand back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rizal fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fedorov avoids it really well and circles away.

Rizal darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fedorov throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Fedorov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rizal's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rizal's back!
Rizal covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Fedorov is punishing Rizal with strikes - can he finish him?!
Fedorov lands a shot to the head.


Rizal is rocked!


It looks like Jose Rizal has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A helpless look comes across Rizal 's face. He knows he's trapped as Fedorov lands a series of unanswered strikes. The ref steps in to stop the fight and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Fedorov!
Alexander Fedorov got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
