The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
No luck for Cooper with that takedown attempt.
Cooper tries a head kick but it misses.
Sumrall wants to clinch up but Cooper keeps it at a distance.
Sumrall throws a body punch but Cooper moves out of range.
Sumrall throws a leg kick but Cooper sees it coming and moves out of range.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sumrall looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pat Sumrall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sumrall tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cooper paws at him with a jab and circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sumrall comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cooper is looking to sinch up a triangle. Sumrall throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cooper's body to avoid the submission. Cooper has instead reached around Sumrall's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cooper arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
