The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaepernick stuffs the takedown attempt from Yaj. Yaj gets slowly back to his feet.

Yaj lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Yaj is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Yaj is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kaepernick can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Yaj is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kaepernick can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kaepernick can do anything to dispel that myth.

Yaj is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Kaepernick is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Kaepernick flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Yaj anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Kaepernick and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Yaj slips an arm under Kaepernick chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Yaj has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Yaj is squeezing on Kaepernick like an anaconda would it's prey. Kaepernick fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
