The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pekka scores with a takedown into Malmberg's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pekka throwing strikes but missing.

Pekka postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Malmberg is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pekka, into his guard.
Malmberg seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Pekka working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Malmberg has passed into half guard!
Malmberg moves nicely into side control.
Pekka manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Pekka is trying to maintain the position but Malmberg is very close to passing his half guard.

Pekka looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Malmberg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pekka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pekka is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Malmberg's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Malmberg's back!
Pekka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Malmberg is covering up but some of the strikes from Pekka are getting through and doing damage.

Even with his hooks in, Pekka manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Malmberg staying busy and making it hard for Pekka to control.

Malmberg is trying to defend against the choke here but Pekka has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Pekka Tightens the hold and Malmberg taps out furiously! Pekka displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
