Vera is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by You are just a JOKE!. Tony Twister has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oooh a lovely combination from Vera sends Twister down but not out. Vera dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Tony Twister has been cut.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Vera slaps away a takedown attempt from Twister, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Vera cracks Twister with an uppercut from hell and Twister crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Vera's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Vera fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Kid Vera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vera dives in and grabs Twister's left leg, looking for a takedown. Twister pushes down on Vera's head and hops out.
Tony Twister has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kid Vera.
Twister will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Vera - that will leave a mark!
Vera uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Twister has time to react.

Twister fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Vera rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Twister moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vera connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Twister covering up! Vera comes in with a big uppercut and Twister goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
