PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Ramsey Hidjen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Filipovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ramsey Hidjen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mirko Filipovic!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipovic jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Filipovic throws a jab but it's blocked by Hidjen.
Hidjen blocks a head kick by Filipovic.
Filipovic throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hidjen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hidjen tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Filipovic manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Filipovic lands a head kick that bluckles Hidjen and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Filipovic no doubt looking to push for a finish!

It looks like Ramsey Hidjen has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hidjen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hidjen lands a really nice looking cross but Filipovic seems unphased.

Hidjen looks low and kicks high, catching Filipovic right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it!
Hidjen tries to clinch up.
Hidjen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Filipovic throws out the jab.
Hidjen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Filipovic swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Filipovic looks to land a right hand but Hidjen moved out of range.

and as Hidjen resets, Filipovic pounces with a savage head kick that drops Hidjen to the mat! Hidjen looks wobbly but gets back to his feet on the count of 5. The referee continues the count to 8 then steps aside to let these two guys get back at it!

Hidjen is rocked!
Hidjen moves away from the strike by Filipovic.
Oh Hidjen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Filipovic connects with a quick right hand that sends Hidjen tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Mirko Filipovic!
