9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Samuel Washington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 2, fighting out of New York, Humberto Montes! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montes shoots in for a takedown but Washington shows good takedown defense. Washington takes a body punch but keeps moving. Washington slips a straight right by Montes. Montes throws a series of punches but Washington avoids them all with ease. Washington blocks the body kick.
Montes is looking to score with low kicks. Montes connects with a body shot. Washington throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Montes misses with a wild combination.
Washington throws a wild body kick that Montes sees coming a mile off. Montes scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Humberto Montes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Washington throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Montes on the side of the head. A solid leg kick lands there for Washington.
Washington doesn't succeed with the takedown and Montes counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Montes throws a wild body kick that Washington sees coming a mile off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Washington thows a left - swing and a miss! Montes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Washington walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Montes with a nice cross. A nice inside leg kick there by Washington. That's going to slow Montes down. A kick lands to the mid section there for Washington. Montes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Montes thows a left - swing and a miss! Washington scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Montes avoids a kick to the body.
Washington takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Montes darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Washington wants to improve his position but Montes is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Montes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Washington but Washington pushes him off and we're back to square one. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Montes throws a low kick but it's checked well by Washington. Montes throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Washington lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Montes has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Montes and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Montes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Washington misses with a hook. Montes ducked under it nicely. Montes fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Washington slips a straight right by Montes. A left and a right from Montes both land. Nice combination. Montes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Samuel Washington has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Humberto Montes. Washington connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Humberto Montes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Montes misses with an uppercut. Montes takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Washington scores with a head kick. Montes tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Washington throws a sloppy head kick and Montes moves out of range easily. Montes goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Washington checks a low kick from Montes. Washington fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Montes on the side of the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Washington takes a jab right on the kisser.

That was a close second round but I would say that Samuel Washington will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Washington to score with a decent uppercut. Washington stalks Montes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Montes's face. Montes staggers backwards, shaken. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Montes tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Montes throws out a leg kick but Washington moves out of range and Montes only half commits. Washington works the jab nicely. A swing and a miss from Montes. Montes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Washington's head. Montes throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Washington fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Montes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Washington lands the left hand. Montes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
