PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cormac Gutz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gutz comes into the arena with Everyday blaring out of the sound system. Anderson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Champ is Here. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cormac Gutz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson with a jab.
Anderson throws a wild body kick that Gutz sees coming a mile off.
Good shot there by Anderson.
No luck for Gutz with that takedown attempt.
Gutz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anderson as he avoids it easily.
Anderson cracks a nice hook into Gutz's ribs.
Gutz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Anderson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gutz somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cormac Gutz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Anderson lands with a hook. Gutz tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gutz shoots for a double leg takedown but Anderson sprawls well. He's pushed Gutz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gutz drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Gutz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Anderson scores with a sloppy right hand. Gutz should have avoided that one.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Anderson is controlling Gutz's posture.
Gutz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Anderson controls Gutz momentarily but Gutz frees himself.

We're going to have a standup here because Cormac Gutz wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
The crowd cheers as Anderson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gutz doesn't seem phased though.

Anderson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gutz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Gutz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gutz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Gutz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Anderson.
Anderson tries a low kick but Gutz avoids it.

Gutz sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Reggie Anderson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well Anderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
