The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ako scores with a nice right hand.
Linhares tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Ako paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Linhares looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Linhares will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ako uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Linhares.
Ako digs a good body shot into Linhares's ribs.
Ako keeps the fight on the outside.
Ako slaps away a takedown attempt from Linhares, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ako lands a nice shot that snaps Linhares's head back.
Linhares takes a swing at Ako's ribcage but misses.
Ako uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Linhares.
Linhares fails with the takedown.

Ako drops Linhares with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Linhares! Ako dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
