Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sami Hyypia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hyypia has chosen Al Bowlly - Hang out the stars in Indiana as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from James.
James uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hyypia.
James throws a right and a left that Hyypia avoids nicely.
Some bone on bone action there as James checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Hyypia thows a body shot but no joy.
James throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hyypia takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
James shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hyypia is trying to defend but James finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
James wants to pass to mount but Hyypia is defending the position.
James throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hyypia is trying is best to control the position here.

James throws a strike but Hyypia avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

James is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Hyypia is retaining full guard.

Hyypia seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James misses with an uppercut.

James looks for the body kick but Hyypia saw that one coming.
Hyypia is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hyypia.
A slow jab from James misses its intended target.
James fails to land the takedown.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hyypia throws a hook but James avoids it easily.
James tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hyypia cracks James with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Hyypia uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from James.
Hyypia cracks James with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! James looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Hyypia finish him?
James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hyypia as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James slips a straight right by Hyypia.
Hyypia pushes James away with a front kick.
James is breathing heavily.
James avoids the head kick by Hyypia.

James dodges the punch combination from Hyypia.
James swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hyypia looks to land a right hand but James moved out of range.
Hyypia uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.

Hyypia is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by James.
Hyypia lands a big uppercut and James crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but James looks OK. Hyypia waves James back to his feet!
James is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James misses with a body shot.
Oh James is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hyypia lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens James up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Hyypia from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw James's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sami Hyypia!
A relieved looking Sami Hyypia thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
