Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kanbei Shimada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimada is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Party and Bullshit. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kanbei Shimada enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eric Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kanbei Shimada!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Cain tenderised Shimada's leg. Shimada is trying to keep his angry face on.
Cain keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cain slips a straight right by Shimada.
Shimada checks a leg kick nicely.
Shimada avoids the head kick by Cain.
Shimada lands a nice shot that snaps Cain's head back.
Shimada lands with a good body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shimada.
Cain misses the shot to the body.
Shimada fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cain manages to avoid it.
Cain tries to move into range but Shimada moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

The fighters circling - Shimada throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shimada shoots in but Cain avoids the takedown attempt easily.

It looks like Kanbei Shimada has been cut.
Cain is looking to clinch but Shimada is avoiding it.
Cain tries a head kick but it misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cain.
Cain lands with a nice combination. Shimada backs away looking to recover.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cain is trying to work for a kimura but Shimada is defending well.

Cain is taking a breather. Shimada says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Cain is looking for a kimura but Shimada is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cain to get the leverage.
Cain tries to pass the half guard into mount. Shimada knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Shimada is pressing down on Cain's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Shimada is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cain is aware though and is defending well.

Shimada wants to sweep here but Cain controlling him for the moment.
Cain tries to free his leg and advance position but Shimada is retaining full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shimada looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cain has picked Shimada up and slammed him! Shimada can't keep hold of the triangle and Cain manages to pass to side control!
Cain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shimada keeps working.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cain drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cain jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cain sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shimada's guard.
Shimada is looking for a sweep. Cain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Shimada is staying active underneath Cain, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Eric Cain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cain escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shimada gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Shimada escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cain drops back looking for a leg! Shimada is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shimada manages to kick Cain off! Cain jumps back into Shimada's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eric Cain will probably get the nod.

Shimada is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Cain is staying active.
Shimada might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cain kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Cain can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shimada is looking to escape.
Cain is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Shimada can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Eric Cain showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Cain has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
