The crowd seem to be enjoying Cardoso's choice of entrance music: Samba de Janeiro. Renato Cardoso has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Björn Giller's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Björn Giller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Renato Cardoso!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giller cracks Cardoso with an open hand slap.
Giller scores with a one two! Cardoso had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Renato Cardoso has been cut.
Cardoso swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Giller's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Giller duly obliges.
Cardoso misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cardoso misses with a kick to the body.

Giller shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cardoso's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Cardoso stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cardoso wants it to stay on the feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Giller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cardoso is on top in guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Still in the clinch, Cardoso scores with a nice short uppercut.
Giller has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cardoso avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Björn Giller will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Giller shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Giller was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Björn Giller.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Giller, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
