PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Coke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Stoker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Coke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Albert Stoker!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coke closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Stoker throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Coke counters with a two punch combo.
Coke tries to clinch up but Stoker circles away and keeps his distance.
Coke closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Stoker connects with a looping right hand.
Stoker misses with a few strikes there.
Coke lands a right hook to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Stoker darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Coke on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Stoker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Coke throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stoker sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Coke throws a nice looking combination but Stoker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Coke shoots for a double leg takedown but Stoker sprawls well. He's pushed Coke's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Albert Stoker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stoker looks to land a right hand but Coke moved out of range.
Stoker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stoker bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Coke's head backwards.
Stoker jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Stoker ducks right into an uppercut from Coke.
Stoker tries to bum rush Coke with a series of wild strikes but Coke uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Coke doesn't manage to clinch there - Stoker circles away.
Coke looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stoker is fending him off so far but Coke persists. Nope, Stoker circles away and we're back to standing.
Stoker missing with a left hand there. Coke was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Stoker drives through with a takedown into Coke's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Coke is looking for a triangle here but Stoker uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Coke is in a horrible position here. Stoker smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stoker holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Albert Stoker wasn't active enough on the ground.
Coke looks to score with a jab to the body but Stoker is just out of range.
Coke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Stoker throws a hook to the side of Coke's head but Coke sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Stoker misses with a hook. Coke ducked under it nicely.

and Coke makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Stoker might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Stoker closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Good work by Coke as he checks the leg kick.

Coke doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Coke swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Stoker counters with a one-two to the body.
Coke wants to clinch up but Stoker keeps it at a distance.

Coke bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stoker's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coke drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stoker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Coke has Stoker in his guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Albert Stoker has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Stoker throws a lazy right hand but Coke sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Albert Stoker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stoker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
